MeZine implores you all to vote today. Even if you think your guy is poised to win - or lose - in a landslide, you should still vote.  It is a historic day either way.  At this time tomorrow we will either have our first black president or the first female vice president.

Vote.  Because Hollywood Said To.

  1. I voted because Edie’s grandmother told me to. Then I got talked into it by another citizen type. It only took like three minutes and I am glad I went. I forgot about the decriminalizing pot question.

  2. We didn’t have any hard questions. It was just like 8 turns of a rusty switch, then one turn of a rusty lever. So old school. Even more old school was the dental work on the polling person. She had four teeth.

  3. I went to St. John’s church to vote. In addition to voting anxiety, I was dealing with going into church anxiety. It was three minutes fraught with fear. I do wish I lived in CA for a minute today to vote No on Prop 8. Grrrr.

  4. My vote DOES matter. Decriminalized pot and banned dog racing. Sweet.

  5. I voted and have two observations:

    1. With all the news about voter fraud I found it a little surprising that I was not asked to show any identification.
    2. Why in the hell is the County Coroner affiliated with a political party? I don’t really see what being a Democrat or Republican has to do with being a good Coroner. Am I missing something here?

  6. That is bizarre and pretty creepy. Was he your party? If not, would he not embalm you as well as he could? And end question, was the coroner running unopposed?

There were two judges who were listed as both dem and repub. That’s totally cheating. Plus, I don’t think judges should have party affiliation either.

  7. I didn’t have to show ID either and thought it was strange.

There are probably some good jokes to be had re: County Coroner, affiliations, and dead bodies but I don’t know them.

  8. The Incumbent, Republican Kane County Coroner ended up winning, see results (scroll down):

I left that one blank as I did on a few others. Unfortunately, I’m not very informed when it comes to local politics.
