Blinded By the Light

If you are a long time reader of meZine, you know that the site looks radically different than it did, say, yesterday. If you are not a long time reader of meZine, perhaps you are wondering something along the lines of “WTF?”

The new meZine hasn’t officially launched. The design isn’t completely finished and I haven’t finished uploading all the articles from the old meZine. The latter, I must tell you, is a HA-YOOOOGE pain in the ass. The columns that are completely uploaded are Dear Id (seriously, who doesn’t love the Id) and Bender. Once meZine is all official and shit, I will reactivate the Daily Mezine feature to give you alerts when new material is live.

Since this is a “soft launch”, so to speak, I welcome you to comment your little hearts out. The first time you comment, your post will be sent to our spam filter for approval. Once approved, your future comments will post immediately. You don’t have to sign in to comment, but you do have to put your email address down. It isn’t published, though. Not to worry. We’re just as conscious of your security as ours.

I’m fried and almost legally blind from staring at the monitor for two days straight. But, since you’re here, I may as well post something interesting.

    If anyone has any suggestion for a third news feed, I’m all over it. TMZ is not cutting it. Maybe I’ll switch the link it’s feeding from.

    Latest updates: The music category is complete (there are only two, though I think I’ll feed in Driven to Tears there since it’s no longer active) and the movies category is complete. And I’ve made Flash Friday a feature. In case you bitches get bored, you can just click all over that link.

    We could be fully live in a matter of days. I have exciting new material from iCandy, Out There and more but I’m not going to post them until we’re raring to go.

    Sorry it’s taking me so long to fully update meZine. I’ve been away and barely touched the site. I anticipate a full launch after the weekend.

    OK! If anyone is checking in with the updates, we now have all the features loaded except Ouch, which is like 8 years of material, so it’ll be painful (har) and iCandy. Those updates will happen this weekend, so we should be officially open on Monday. I also have to load some more images on to this thing, but that is easy.

    Hm. The site is loading very slowly, so I have to make some tweaks to the image files before the big launcheroo. Also, I changed the SPORTS RSS to MLB: The Red Sox until the season is over. Although, for Sox fans, it may be over now. When it is over, I want a feed to The Sports Guy, because I love that guy. He’s on hiatus until Football season, though I don’t even know if he has an RSS feed.

    That being said, the new mezine probably won’t launch until Monday of next week.
