Flash Friday #20: May the Farce Be With You
By Flash Friday • Jul 26th, 2008 • Category: Flash FridayNostalgia has hit the offices of MeZine hard this week. As the years advance, we can’t help but think of things gone by, like the VCR, the answering machine, and the busy signal. The technological advances over the last 20 years have been stunning, even in movies. We are old enough to remember when the special effects of Star Wars blew our minds. We literally watched that movie with our mouths fully agape (a mouth which was probably stuffed with trans-fatty buttered popcorn which is also now gone by, but that’s another article). Now it’s a lot of years later and Harrison Ford — whose name we drew little pink hearts around — is now like our dad’s age. Actually, we just IMDBed and he’s OLDER than our dad. Dayum.
But what is old is new again. MeZine’s Assistant Coordinator in Charge of Googling Stuff informs us that the Cartoon Network is about to launch a 30-minute special spoofing Star Wars. George Lucas is involved, as questionable as that might be given the last two Star Wars movies, but Mark Hamill (dreeeeamy) will play Luke Skywalker again. And it gets better… we don’t have to see how old and fugly everyone has gotten, it’s claymation!
Here’s a clip to give you just a little taste of what is to come June 17th. It makes us really wish we had cable.
h/t Hot Air.
Flash Friday appears on meZine on Fridays with distractions of the dynamic variety. Animations, games, videos... if it has procrastination value, we'll post it.
