Wizard of Ughs

This week we heard that Tom Cruise got fired from Paramount for acting odd, yet skeevatch pedophile and potential murderer John Karr flew to the states in first class while his family sells the book and movie rights.

Do you smell something?

Dear World,
I am writing you today to express my disappointment in the public crucifixion of mega-rich celeb, Tom Cruise. I have been idly standing by watching you rake this man over the coals for expressing beliefs you do not agree with and using a couch as a trampoline. Like you haven’t done anything you stupid before? May I remind you about the time you got drunk and just dropped trou to do your business on the street? You’re just lucky Oprah wasn’t there.
We vilify from our glass houses as we flip from channel to channel, from extreme WB reality show to extreme VH1 reality show. We condone the heinous behavior of talentless hacks like Paris Hilton because we LIKE our talentless hacks to be vapid, narcissistic assholes, as long as they are wearing couture. But if a celebrity can actually string a semi-intelligent phrase together to condemn something other than firecrotches, we clasp our righteous noses between pointer finger and thumb and turn our heads in disgust. Don’t dis our drugs, crazypants.
Tom Cruise believes exactly the same things as John Travolta, Kelly Preston, Kirstie Alley, Leah Remini, Isaac Hays, Jerry Seinfeld, Sharon Stone and Greta Van Susteren do, yet THEY still have the public’s adoration. Are we just pissed that Tom Cruise’s shiny PR machine stuttered and gave us a peek at the real man behind the curtain? Is it that we don’t want our celebrities to be anything other than what we believe them to be or do we just revel in the fall from grace?
Are we really that petty or are we just too busy watching Flava Flav getting down with the nasty to care?

L Ron Hubbard RAWKS, bitches.

Movies. We love movies. You love movies. These are the movies that you want to hear about. And stop calling movies 'films', it sounds pretentious.
